Friends have asked “Why the grey panther and why the French, ‘La Panthère Grise?’” I reply that the grey panther relates to the former  group of elderly persons, of which I am one!  The group was known as The Grey Panthers, dating back to the 1970s, which  advocated for seniors.

I also am an animal lover, especially of cats, both domestic and wild, and find panthers to be magnificent creatures.

The French influence comes from the time I spent in Provence (southern France). I have traveled there several times, and discovered that I had a natural affinity with France, and became enamored with the French culture. I have spent many hours exploring and photographing historical sites, including castles, palaces, ruins, architectural and geographic subjects.
